Pricing, Upgrade Paths, and Physical vs Digital
Understanding the pricing structure is the most important part of any Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition physical pre order decision. Sucker Punch and Sony offer several paths depending on what you already own.

| Upgrade Pack | $14.99 | Existing owners | Echoes of Iki Island + Most Wanted |

New Content: Echoes of Iki Island and Most Wanted
The headline addition justifying a Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition physical pre order is Echoes of Iki Island, a full narrative expansion with its own story arc. It is structured into two interleaved timelines.
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Timeline Structure | Present-day exploration plus flashbacks to the Battle of Iki Island |
| Present-Day Setting | A previously unseen valley, former home of Snake and the Vipers |
| New Character | Nagatsu, tied to Iki's past, appears in Ezo today |
| New Gear | Heavy weapons, new armor sets, new dyes |
| New Enemies | Additional enemy types to fight across both timelines |
The second major feature, Most Wanted, is Sucker Punch's take on a roguelike. You accept bounties to start runs, defeat enemies to earn perks, and gradually unlock additional playable characters:
| Character | Weapon | Style |
|---|---|---|
| Atsu (Iki) | Dual katanas | Aggressive dual-wield |
| Oyuki | Kusarigama (chain and sickle) | Mid-range crowd control |
| Nagatsu | Yari (spear) | Reach and thrusting |
If you genuinely enjoy Ghost of Yotei's combat, Most Wanted is the mode built specifically for you — endless bounty runs, stacking perks, and multiple weapon styles to master.
Step-by-Step Pre Order Walkthrough
Follow these steps to secure the right edition for your situation.
Check What You Already Own
If you own the base game, you do not need the full $69.99 edition. The $14.99 upgrade adds the two new pieces of content.
Choose Physical or Digital
Physical pre orders suit collectors who want the disc; digital pre orders unlock the deluxe charm and Sakai armor bonus immediately.
Pre Order Before the Deadline
For the Sakai armor early unlock, complete your digital purchase or pre-order by September 30, 2026.
Install the Day-One Patch
On October 1, 2026, install the patch to unlock Echoes of Iki Island and Most Wanted automatically.
Claim the Free Update
Even without any purchase, existing owners receive Beauty of Yotei mode, new tracks, and accessibility options for free.
You only pay if you specifically want Echoes of Iki Island and Most Wanted. The free patch content — Beauty of Yotei screensaver mode, Watenabe mode tracks, appearance-vs-stats armor separation, and a high contrast option — is available to every owner.
Is It Worth It? Honest Assessment and Checklist
The base game earns strong praise for its world design — the Ezo environments rank among the best open-world visuals on PS5. The revenge-plot story executes well but treads familiar territory for PlayStation narratives. Whether the Complete Edition is worth it comes down to how much more of that world you want.
Pre Order Decision Checklist:
- Do you already own Ghost of Yotei? If yes, consider the $14.99 upgrade
- Do you want the narrative expansion Echoes of Iki Island?
- Do you enjoy the combat enough for Most Wanted roguelike runs?
- Do you want the Sakai armor pre-order bonus?
- Do you prefer a physical disc for your collection?
The additions are substantial — a new mainline-quality story arc plus a roguelike mode — but if you already own the base game and are satisfied with the free patch, the upgrade is the smarter purchase over a full re-buy.
FAQ
Q: What does the Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition physical pre order include?
It includes the base game, the Legends online co-op mode, all former Digital Deluxe content including the Charm of Hachiman's Kyusaku, plus the two new October 1 additions: the Echoes of Iki Island story expansion and the Most Wanted roguelike combat mode.
Q: How much does the Complete Edition cost?
The full Complete Edition costs $69.99. Existing owners of the base game can instead buy the Complete Edition upgrade for $14.99, which adds Echoes of Iki Island and Most Wanted.
Q: Do existing owners get anything for free?
Yes. A free patch on October 1, 2026 adds Beauty of Yotei mode (a screensaver-style mode for enjoying environments), new Watenabe mode tracks, an armor appearance-vs-stats quality of life feature, and a high contrast accessibility option.
Q: How do I get the Sakai armor bonus?
Digitally purchase or pre-order the Complete Edition or the upgrade by September 30, 2026, and the Sakai armor — a nod to Jin's family armor from Ghost of Tsushima — unlocks early on October 1. This incentive is tied to digital purchases, so physical buyers should verify retailer terms.
