How to Pre Order the Physical Copy Online
Ordering a physical copy online follows the same flow as any major PS5 release, but a few details are worth locking down before checkout.
Compare Retailers
Check availability at major online retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, and PlayStation's own store. Compare listed price, shipping speed, and any retailer-exclusive pre-order bonuses.
Confirm the Edition
Verify the listing says Complete Edition specifically. Listings for the older standard release will not include Echoes of Sekigahara or Most Wanted on disc entitlement.
Check the Pre-Order Bonus Window
Pre-order or purchase by September 30th to qualify for the early unlock of the Sakai armor, Jin's family armor from the original game, wearable by Atsu.
Place and Track Your Order
Complete checkout, confirm your delivery date matches the October 1st content launch, and keep your order confirmation for any support questions.
Install the October 1st Patch
Once your disc arrives, install the day-one patch to activate Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted alongside the base game and Legends.
The Sakai armor early unlock is tied to the September 30th pre-order deadline. Orders placed after that date still receive the full game content, but the armor unlock timing may differ.
Pricing and Edition Comparison
Pricing for the Complete Edition is straightforward, and notably restrained compared to recent industry trends. Sony has kept the standard price point rather than charging a premium for the bundle.
| Option | Price | Best For | Includes Expansion |
|---|---|---|---|
| Complete Edition (new buyers) | $70 USD | Players who do not own the game | Yes, full package |
| Complete Edition Upgrade | $15 USD | Existing base-game owners | Yes, both new modes |
| Standard Edition (existing) | Already owned | Current players wanting free QoL only | No, patch features only |
New Player Path
- $70 Complete Edition
- Base game plus Legends available immediately Both expansions unlock October 1st
Existing Owner Path
- $15 upgrade
- Unlocks Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted Digital Deluxe content granted if not already owned
Free Patch Path
- $0 for current owners
- Beauty of Yotei mode, transmog, photo stamps Accessibility and QoL improvements
A $15 upgrade for a story expansion plus a rogue-like mode is reasonable by current DLC standards, and the $70 ceiling for new buyers avoids the premium pricing seen elsewhere in the industry.
New Content Overview
The Complete Edition's headline additions give both story-focused and challenge-seeking players something substantial.
Echoes of Sekigahara splits its narrative between the present day and flashbacks to Atsu's time on the mainland. In the present, you explore a previously unseen valley once controlled by the Snake and his followers, the Vipers. In the past, you experience a pivotal moment in Atsu's life at the Battle of Sekigahara, before her return and quest for revenge. The expansion adds a new character, Nagato, new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, and dyes.
Most Wanted is the developer's rogue-like take on single-player combat survival. You accept bounties to begin new runs, earn perks by defeating enemies, and unlock additional playable characters. The reveal trailer highlighted each character's specialty:
| Character | Signature Weapon | Playstyle |
|---|---|---|
| Atsu | Dual katana | Balanced mastery, aggressive offense |
| Yuki | Kusarigama | Range control, crowd disruption |
| Nagato | Yari (spear) | Reach and thrust-based pressure |
Both Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted ship with their own trophy lists, making the Complete Edition the natural target for completionists chasing a full platinum set.
