How to Decide: Sale, Upgrade, or Wait
Check Current Ownership
If you already own base Ghost of Yotei, do not rebuy at full price. The paid Complete Edition Upgrade adds Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, and applicable Deluxe content at a lower cost.
Apply the Free Update First
Download the free October 2026 update to receive Patch 2.0 features, Photo Mode additions, and Beauty of Yotei Mode before spending anything.
Evaluate the Paid Additions
If Echoes of Sekigahara's story content and Most Wanted's roguelike survival loop appeal to you, the upgrade or full purchase delivers strong value.
Watch Seasonal Sale Windows
As a first-party PS5 title released October 1, 2026, expect the earliest realistic discounts during major PlayStation Store seasonal sales, not at launch.
New players should buy the Complete Edition outright at $69.99 — it includes everything released so far and avoids paying twice for expansion content later.
Buyer Checklist
Before You Purchase:
- Confirm your regional release date (Oct 1 or Oct 2, 2026)
- Verify the listing includes Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted
- Check whether you qualify for the Complete Edition Upgrade instead
- Download the free October 2026 update if you own the base game
- Review new Trophy lists if you are pursuing the platinum
The Complete Edition adds Trophies tied to Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, and free-update content. Budget extra playtime if you are targeting the expanded platinum route.
